Butterflies Therapy, Wellbeing and Training Centre C.I.C
Butterflies Therapy, Wellbeing and Training Centre C.I.C provides holistic, trauma‑informed therapeutic and wellbeing services for adults, children and young people. Their work integrates creative, relational and body‑based approaches to support emotional regulation, resilience and self‑awareness. They offer therapy, emotional wellbeing sessions, equine emotional wellbeing, a six‑week post‑therapy coaching programme, personal growth coaching, and a developing programme of training courses for professionals and carers.
All services, apart from Equine Emotional Wellbeing Sessions, are available through face‑to‑face and remote sessions.
Mission
Their mission is to provide a holistic, trauma‑informed therapeutic and mental health service that supports adults, children, young people and their families who have experienced abuse, trauma or emotional distress. They offer a compassionate platform for individuals to develop self‑awareness, strengthen emotional resilience and cultivate wellbeing across all areas of their lives.
Therapeutic Approach
Their approach is grounded in creative, relational and body‑based therapeutic techniques that support individuals of all ages in reconnecting with safety, emotional regulation and self‑expression. They draw on a range of modalities that honour the wisdom of the nervous system, the importance of relationship and the unique needs of each person we work with.
For adults, children and young people, they integrate creative and somatic methods to support expression, processing and embodied awareness. This may include grounding practices, sensory‑based tools, reflective dialogue, movement‑based techniques and other approaches that help clients explore their experiences in a way that feels safe and accessible.
For children and young people specifically, they also use developmentally attuned tools such as sand tray, clay, storytelling, painting, puppets and therapeutic play to support communication, emotional expression and regulation in ways that meet them where they are.
The individual remains at the centre of their work. When a child or young person is not present, they advocate on their behalf and ensure their voice, needs and wellbeing guide every decision.
Therapy and Coaching Services
They provide a broad range of trauma‑informed therapeutic and wellbeing services designed to support adults, children, young people and their families. Their expanded offer includes:
• Trauma‑Informed Therapy for Adults, Children and Young People
A relational, holistic therapeutic service grounded in trauma‑informed principles. Sessions draw on creative, somatic and evidence‑based approaches to support individuals in processing trauma, strengthening emotional resilience and reconnecting with their sense of safety, agency and self.
Emotional Wellbeing Sessions
These sessions offer gentle, practical support for day‑to‑day worries, emotional overwhelm, stress and life challenges. They are ideal for those who do not require therapy but would benefit from a safe space to explore feelings, build coping strategies and enhance emotional awareness.
Equine Emotional Wellbeing Service
Working alongside horses provides a powerful, embodied way to develop emotional regulation, confidence and self‑connection. This service supports individuals in understanding their nervous system responses, building trust and experiencing grounded relational safety through equine‑assisted interaction.
Post‑Therapy Coaching (Six‑Week Programme)
A structured six‑week, forward‑focused programme designed for individuals who have completed therapy and want to continue integrating their learning. This coaching journey supports ongoing growth by helping clients maintain momentum, deepen self‑awareness and apply therapeutic insights into everyday life, relationships and personal development. It offers a gentle bridge between therapy and independent practice, ensuring clients feel supported as they continue to evolve and embody their healing.
Personal Growth Coaching
A holistic coaching service for adults seeking clarity, direction and expansion. This work supports individuals in exploring identity, purpose and values, while cultivating confidence, emotional resilience and empowered decision‑making.
Referrals
Butterflies accepts referrals from a wide range of agencies including Independent Foster Care Agencies, Children & Families Social Services (East Sussex and out of county), CAMHS, GPs, schools and other family services. Families are also welcome to contact us directly to make a referral for their child or young person.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Services for Adults, Children and Young People
They recognise that not every adult, child or young person requires therapy. Many simply need a supportive space to explore everyday worries, emotional challenges or life transitions. In response to this, and informed by those who have used our services, they have developed a range of emotional wellbeing and coaching options including individual emotional wellbeing sessions, equine emotional wellbeing, their six‑week post‑therapy coaching programme and personal growth coaching.
Individual Emotional Wellbeing Sessions are available for ages 7 years and above, offering a supportive, non‑clinical space to explore feelings, build resilience and develop practical emotional tools.
Training Courses
In addition to their therapeutic and coaching services, they also offer a range of training courses designed to support professionals, carers and organisations in developing trauma‑informed understanding and practice. They are currently updating their full training programme to reflect the evolving needs of the communities they serve, ensuring their courses remain relevant, accessible and grounded in holistic, trauma‑informed principles.
