StreetlightUK

StreetlightUK is a frontline specialist support service for women involved in prostitution and all forms of sexual violence and exploitation, including those trafficked into prostitution.  Providing tangible and material pathways for women to exit prostitution, they have developed their specialism and understanding of women across London, Surrey & Sussex & Medway since 2012.  

The service supports women who face sexual violence and exploitation, helping them overcome the challenges that limit their choices such as the lack of education, training, and employment opportunities, as well as the physical and emotional barriers they face.    

Tackling the root causes of why women are involved in prostitution such as poverty, low self-worth, sexual abuse/violence, isolation, mental illness, addictions, and relationship dysfunction. They enable women to regain control of their lives, providing support to exit prostitution.     

They received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (MBE for charities), alongside an extra award recognising their frontline support during Covid-19.
